About

A millimetre at the underwire changes everything. That is where we start.

01

Stardust Jump is a small atelier in Yonezawa, in Yamagata Prefecture, built on one conviction: lingerie should be made the way tailored clothing is made, from your measurements, in fabric chosen for your skin, with seams placed where your body actually sits. Yonezawa is a castle town with a long silk-weaving tradition, and the work here borrows its patience. The silk charmeuse comes from the Nishijin weavers of Kyoto, the lace from Calais, and both are handled the way a tailor handles cloth: on the bias where the garment should move, on the straight grain where the structure does the shaping. Commissions begin through conversation rather than a catalogue, because what a client asks for is often not quite what she needs, and the first email is where that gets sorted out.

Bridal sets show the method best: a silk charmeuse chosen to match the lining of the gown, a toile fitted on the body, and several fittings before the final piece is sewn. The atelier works only to order. Each new client brings a different body, a different idea of what intimate apparel should feel like, and a different set of constraints: fabric allergies, post-surgical considerations, a preference for no underwire, or a need for a specific silhouette under a specific garment. Nothing is standardised, and no piece is made until the measurements, the fabric and the details have been agreed in writing.
