FAQ

How do I take my measurements if I cannot visit the atelier in person?

We send a printed measurement guide by post along with a fabric sample pack. The guide walks through all twelve measurements with photographs. Many clients have a trusted tailor take the measurements for them, which we recommend for the most accurate result. Remote commissions follow the same process as in-person ones, with an additional fitting stage built in.

What fabrics are available, and can I request something not in the archive?

The current archive holds Nishijin silk charmeuse in twelve colourways, Calais lace in six weights, and stretch tulle in four shades. If you have a specific fabric in mind that is not in the archive, we can discuss sourcing it. Lead times may be longer for sourced fabrics, and a minimum order quantity may apply from the supplier.

Can I cancel or reschedule a fitting appointment?

Fittings can be rescheduled with at least 48 hours' notice at no charge. Cancellations after cutting has begun are not eligible for a full refund, as the fabric has been cut to your measurements and cannot be reused. We discuss this clearly at the time of booking so there are no surprises.

Do you work with clients who have had breast surgery or other body considerations?

Yes. Post-surgical considerations that affect fit, including asymmetry, sensitivity and the need to avoid underwire entirely, can be built into a piece. We discuss them at the first appointment and adjust the construction accordingly. We are not medical practitioners and do not give medical advice, so if a garment is needed for medical reasons, please check with your doctor first. Nothing about the process is standardised, so there is room to accommodate most requirements.
